We are aware that there are rumors circulating about a COVID-19 diagnosis in Dyer. Due to patient confidentiality rules, neither the Health Department nor local clinics can confirm (for local governments) where a patient lives. We CAN say definitively that the rumor that a Dyer city employee is infected is FALSE.
Mayor Chris Younger said, “We all need to be very careful with rumors during this time. I think it’s best to be cautious and assume that anyone we meet might be carrying COVID-19 and to adapt accordingly, staying close to home and practicing social distancing. This illness will undoubtedly impact almost all of our communities before it runs its course.”
